IMG_1859I’ve rediscovered my sewing machine and my fabric stash – and have been experimenting with making clothes for our baby who is now 10 months old.

I’m usually quite daunted by making clothes, especially as I’m not great at following patterns.

My recent discovery of a dress designer ‘Tie Dye Diva’ selling downloadable patterns on Etsy may have changed me forever… she’s created patterns that can be printed on A4 paper, and attached are instructions so simple that even I can follow them (it helps that there are loads of pictures to demonstrate techniques).

This is my first effort – the Perfect A-Line dress – it’s reversible (fully lined) – and can be sized from newborn to 24 months – so you can get a fair bit of use from the pattern. The dress I made is for summer, but I can see myself using a heavier weight fabric to make her a winter tunic to wear over a long sleeve growsuit.
